David Mullett runs Testsequence, a public listening series in Mexico City. He studied design at the Royal College of Art in London, where Brian Eno taught him to think about how culture spreads and mutates, and Jon Wozencroft ran monthly sound seminars: disparate pieces of music set against one another in a darkened room.

Session 2: An ordered listening session. Twenty-five tracks played in full, in two halves with an interval — around 100 minutes. A single mechanism runs through the sequence: a human voice taken from an existing recording and made into the hook of another, from a 1957 Patti Page single through to a 2021 Bicep record. The sequence is the proposition. Nothing is mixed or talked over.
